Since 1994, CCI has managed a variety of projects. These have included:
- major productivity improvements in a South East Queensland quarry.
- part of team analysing improvement opportunities in a brick business in the eastern states of Australia. Two major productivity improvement projects in clay brick operations in NSW and Victoria.
- part of team analysing improvement opportunities in a brick business in the USA. Two major productivity improvement projects in clay brick operations in Texas and Alabama, and then a follow-up project on another five operations in another three southern US states.
- developed specialised manufacturing and logistics interfaces to the modelling and simulation software.
- assisted client team map AS-IS and TO-BE procurement processes ahead of the introduction of a new e-procurement and accounting system.
- developed simulation model of major industrial operation. Model used to examine capacity of machines to cope with extra production. Simulation showed that a significant amount of the previously planned capital expense could be avoided.
- assisted procurement team of South East Asian port identify how to reduce part of cycle time from 17 working days to half a day for most purchases.
- developed simulation model of shipping system with multiple stockpiles
around South East Australia. Simulation included ship scheduling.
- assisted a client team to model and simulate the production of a gold
mine. Team used model and interviews to identify improvement opportunities. Model then used to evaluate improvement ideas to ensure 20% production increase target was achieved. Finally team developed implementation plans for all approved
ideas.
- led benchmarking team to identify major improvement
opportunities for a bulk handling wharf. Team, including stevedores, analysed current operations and visited sites in Eastern Australia to
gather best practice ideas. Finally developed implementation plans to put the
cost effective ideas into practice.
- simulation of a wharf operation to evaluate the impact of
reducing the number of berths on ship delays.
- assisted a client to document business processes using IDEF0
methodology.
- led client team to review service level and technology for an
auxiliary site service.
- led client teams developing Performance Measures for an
Australian wide distribution project. Measures developed for multi-modal transport and warehousing of product included both cost and quality issues.
- assisted a Tasmanian client with shipping contract
negotiations.
- developed benchmarks for a distribution project.
- led consultant team to assist a Western Australian client
renegotiate their 45 MW electricity contract. Prepared business analysis
and negotiating case. Prepared Negotiations Summary Document and
presentation materials for meetings. Provided strategic advice and
assisted with negotiations.
- part of team reporting on the redevelopment of the North
Hobart oval. Produced project evaluation section.
